The Session

I shoot exclusively on location. The place is completely up to you. The lake, a park or your home are some of the many places we could go! I’ll meet you at the spot of your choice, chat with the kids, and make sure I understand what you want to get from our time together. Sessions are held Friday, Saturday and Sunday mornings and afternoons, and a limited number of weekday mornings. I photograph using only natural light so time is of the essence! Sessions are never rushed and can last up to three hours if necessary. Young children are encouraged to take breaks, have snacks and play. I want them to be as happy and relaxed as possible.

What I want from you

I ask that you be yourself and try to forget that there’s a camera around. Also, that you let your children be themselves! This should be fun! I want to capture the natural expression of your children and family. I believe that these are the memories you will treasure the most in the years to come.

I will give you a little instruction as to where to stand or sit, but I want you to take it from there and simply do your thing!

Do you take family portraits?

I am regularly asked if I photograph families as well as children, and the answer is yes! I like to capture families naturally interacting and simply enjoying one another! A way to make this easier is to incorporate an activity you already enjoy doing. Blowing bubbles, playing dress-up, eating cookies, playing ball... 

If you would like some family shots we will try to do those as early in the game as possible, so that I can spend the rest of the time focusing on the little ones... my favorite part!

What happens next?

I will have a few frames of your session up on my blog one to two days after our shoot. Your proofs will be ready for online viewing four weeks after your session is over. You will be provided with a password to access your photos. You are welcomed to share this information with your friends and family. Anyone who has access to the password can order photos online. Payment must be received before processing any order. After payment is complete please allow up to two weeks for delivery of prints.

The session fee is due the day of the session. Cash or check are both acceptable methods of payment. Orders placed 30 days after proofs have been posted will be charged an additional 10% of order total.
